Master of Education - Teaching Profession at Vocational Schools

The study programme “M. Ed. - Teaching Profession at Vocational Schools” is structured as follows:

• Vocational field of study (30 credit points)

• General education subject (30 credit points)

• Vocational Education and Training as a third interdisciplinary field of study (27 credit points)

• Compulsory internship in a vocational school (10 credit points)

• Master thesis (20 credit points)

• Master thesis colloquium (3 points)

 

The studies of vocational education and training is accompanied with one of the following six vocational fields of study:

• Health science

• Nursing science

• Cosmetology

• Electrical engineering (in cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)

• Metal technology (in cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)

• Ecotrophology (in cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)

 

The studies of vocational education and training is accompanied with one of the following six study programmes

    • Health science
    • Nursing science
    • Cosmetology
    • Electrical engineering (in cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)
    • Metal technology (in cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)
    • Ecotrophology (in cooperation with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences)

Entry requirements

A general requirement for enrollment is a valid university entrance qualification. For further information about specific entry requirements for the different study programmes and the application process, please visit the web pages of the Student Office.

Minimum general entry requirements for the admission for this Master programme are a

• Qualified Bachelor degree in the study programme B.A./B. Sc. Vocational Education. The average grade of the bachelor's degree as well as the subject grades in the education sciences are considered. Where applicable, further subject-related admission requirements exist. Further information can be found in the admission regulations;

• Equivalent Bachelor degree in a vocational field of study and a general education subject

• Equivalent Bachelor degree of a foreign higher education institution in a respective study programme. For institutions that are not in a Bologna signatory state, the equivalence will be determined in accordance with the suggestions of the Central Office for Foreign Education

(www.anabin.de).

Master of Education - Lateral entry for Electrical Engineering and Metal Technology

The study programme comprises vocational education and training, the vocational field of study, the specific didactics for the respective vocational field, a general educational subject as well as a 10-week-internship in a vocational school. The workload of this programme is 120 credit points which is divided into the following components.

    • Vocational education and training, including the specific didactics and the internship with 42 credit points
    • General educational subject with 63 credit points
    • Master thesis with a final oral examination with 15 credit points

The special entry requirements for the lateral entry Master of Education are
    • A Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, respectively metal technology, or an equivalent field of study with an overall grade of at least 2,5
    • A specialised apprenticeship or an accomplished vocational practice of at least 26 weeks and the participation in a selection interview
    • Special requirements apply for English and Maths as general educational subjects
