International Handbook of Vocational Education

This publication, which has been in existence since 1995, has become a practice-oriented standard work on comparative vocational education and training research in the German-speaking world. The focus is on country studies that concentrate on national vocational education and training systems. They provide an insight into the socio-economic framework conditions and the education policy competencies of the respective countries from the perspective of vocational education and training.

The International Handbook of Vocational Education and Training includes the following country studies:

In addition to information on the framework conditions and history of the national education and vocational training systems, the standard work also provides information on the comparability of vocational training in other countries with German vocational qualifications.

The series is published by

Dietmar Frommberger and Philipp Grollmann (responsible), Ute Clement, Thomas Deissinger, Uwe Lauterbach, Matthias Pilz, Klaus-Dieter Przyklenk, Georg Spöttl. It was founded by Dr. Uwe Lauterbach and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Mitter in 1994 at the German Institute for International Educational Research.
